How confident are you at Promoting your Private Practice?
You’ve taken the leap and set up your Private Practice. Maybe it’s been a year or two, or perhaps longer. You might be gently coasting along, but deep down, you know there’s potential to grow it into something much more fruitful, and—most importantly—a way of working that gives you more freedom, as well as more income. A practice that truly serves you (as opposed to burning you out).
So, what’s holding you back from achieving that growth?
I’m willing to bet that confidence plays a part. And it’s an interesting issue because, as a clinician, you’re highly skilled and confident in your clinical abilities. But when it comes to stepping more into the world of marketing, putting yourself out there for potential patients or building relationships with referrers, that confidence can wane.
Suddenly, it feels uncomfortable. You might worry about coming across as too “salesy” or fear what your peers might think. As a result, you end up avoiding it altogether, never quite gaining the momentum you need to move forward.
Does this resonate with you?
One of the key aspects of my coaching with clinicians is building their confidence—not just in their marketing skills but in taking that crucial first step. Whether it’s filming your first video to explain your unique approach to managing a clinical issue or reaching out to a team of physiotherapists with a simple email or DM, these actions can feel daunting.
But here’s the thing: once you’ve done it, you realise it’s not nearly as uncomfortable as you imagined. My clients often find that after months (and sometimes even years) of endlessly procrastinating over it, once they’ve made a commitment in our coaching session to take that initial step, they’re then able to repeat it—and then do it again, and again. Getting used to feeling ‘a little uncomfortable’ then bears fruit in terms of practice growth, but also confidence growth
